Primarily a self-taught artist, Marie Straw works with different media to discover the different properties in each and how they change the look of what she wants to achieve. “I did study with several local artists as well as intensively study art books and visit art shows and museums to learn how other artists work.”
Experimentation is a constant in Marie's work. She works with acrylics and collage elements on paper, canvas, plywood, and even tar paper.
She has also exhibited locally as a member of the Spectrum gallery in Georgetown.
